I have 30+ years in the Insurance and Financial Services industry. I grew up in Galena, IL which is known for being the temporary location where General Grant opened a general store following the Civil War. I moved to Virginia while serving in the U.S. Navy and have called Virginia my home for 35 years. The exciting part of this career is the impact we have on the lives of our clients from protecting their assets like their autos and home to planning for retirement, saving for college and passing a legacy on to their family and charitable causes. I get to be a part of it and that’s exciting! Sailing has become my hobby. I can’t think of a better place to sail than the Chesapeake Bay. I proudly support Hope for Families Worldwide a 501(C)3 who sponsor Christian Camps in Richmond, VA, Latvia and Costa Rica. These camps offer an opportunity for children that live in the inner cities to get away from the dangers in their normal environment and enjoy a typical summer camp which include games and water sports.
I have 12 yrs in the insurance business, I’m licensed in Property & Casualty, Life, Health and Annuities. I grew up just south of here in Dinwiddie County, but have called Chesterfield County home for the last 25 yrs. I graduated from Bluefield College. The aspect I love most about my work is how much I truly enjoy working with our customers to ensure they not only have the proper protection but they understand the coverages provided. It’s satisfying to know at the end of the day I made a difference! When I am able to get away from the office I absolutely love the Outer Banks, NC. It’s my peace on earth. I love spending time with my husband, going to the beach, watching current sports or taking a bus trip to the nearby Casino!! I enjoy reading a good book or making someone a quilt. I like to work alongside the American Red Cross to assist in any way I can.
It has been my joy to help others find peace of mind knowing that they are protected should the unexpected arise. Prior to returning to Virginia from Kentucky and meeting Mr. Benson, I worked for a top Fortune 500 healthcare company, specializing in insurance. I strive to make sure that each person feels respected and know that they are in good hands. In 2013 I graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Urban Design and Planning and then worked in Florence Italy for six months. From my experience overseas, I have gained a passion for traveling and admiring different cultures and values all around the world. One goal of mine is to have the privilege to see the Northern Lights. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and exploring new places with my two rescue dogs, Riley and Buck. So far, we have hiked together in seven different states, and in over 34 different state parks. I have participated in many different community service programs, including The Big Event, Habitat for Humanity, and The Nature Conservancy.
I have over 17 years of experience working with insurance. I started my career with Benson Financial Services before transitioning into an insurance agency in Short Pump. I grew up in Ellicott City, MD and came to Richmond to attend VCU where I received my BS in Recreation with an Emphasis in Therapeutics. I thoroughly enjoy assisting our customers in making sure that their assets are fully protected. In my free time, I enjoy quilting, knitting, and crocheting along with being outdoors.
I have 15 years of experience in property and casualty insurance. I have lived in RVA my entire life. I am a graduate of VCU, with a bachelor’s of science in psychology. I love to help our customers protect their lifestyle, by helping them understand their insurance needs. I want to make a positive difference in how they feel about their insurance experience. I really love my family and my pets. In my free time, I enjoy relaxing in the mountains, and the at the waterside, combined with the search of a good crabcake. I like to learn about antiques and history. I often go to antique stores, marveling at pottery or arts and crafts from long ago. I have an extensive cookbook collection and like to collect cookie cutters, the older the better. I currently support St Jude’s Children’s hospital, and I am proud to support our agency community outreach to CAMP HOPE.
